Ship

Overview[]

The Claimh Solais class are a class of battlships constructed by Anatoray to battle Disith.

The majority of an Anatoray Battleship's guns are located on the topside. This is due to the expectation that they would be firing on Reparation class battleships descending from the Grand Stream. Likewise, the ship's most vital components such as the Claudia Unit are located on the bottom of the ship, where the full bulk of the hull shields them from the Disith fire coming from above.

Ships[]

Answeller[]

The Answeller was a fighting cruiser in the Mad-thane fleet which was sunk in the Third Battle of Minagith due to an illegal maneuver made by the Disith forces, it was the second ship to go down. The Answeller was ship #4 in the Claimh Solais squad.

The name originates from Irish mythology. Fragarach, known as "The Answerer" or "The Retaliator" was a sword forged by the gods and used by Manannan mac Lir and Lugh Lamfada. Manannan wielded it as his weapon, before passing it on to Lugh, his foster son. It was said to be a weapon that no armour could stop and placed the wind at the user's command.

Armada[]

The Armada was the first ship to sink in the Third Battle of Minagith. The Armada was originally part of the reserve fleet residing in Minagith.

Claimh Solais[]

The Claimh Solais was the flagship of the Mad-thane fleet and captained by David Mad-thane himself. The battleship played a key role in the war against the Disith and then in the war against the Guild.

The name originates from the sword of Nuadha, the god of battle in Celtic mythology.

Goliath[]

The Goliath was a ship captained by Charles Knowles. It was present at the Third Battle of Minagith but fled the battlefield even before the retreat was sounded. It was later sunk in a duel with the Silvana and featured a huge painting of Charles Knowles on the bow of the ship.

Goliath was superficially terrifying, in reality he was a weak warrior.

Last Exile: Travelers from The Hourglass[]

The Dian Cecht and Simeon were also shown in Earth as the First Forward Defence Forces of The United Kingdom Of Anatoray and Disith with one ship having Tatiana Wisla serving as its vice-captain. There is a high possibility that these two ships were transported by the Exile upon its first or its second trip to Earth.

Last Exile: Fam, the Silver Wing[]

It is shown that a large number of vessels of these class was brought back to Earth during the battle with the Grand Exile together with the Silvana, yet it is not known if its Disithian counterpart was also brought back.
